Sienna, Yoga and Painting

We woke up to rain today, soft and so beautiful. The sights of the tuscan vinyards and hills and Monterigioni in the distance were sweetly surouunded by mist. The sounds of the farm were the same--donkeys braying, horses too, and ducks quacking, rooster crowing.

And added to that a nearly silent but fairly heavy and steady rain.
After morning yoga and breakfast we decided we would go onto Sienna for thier market day. It is only about 15 minutes away, but Harrie, Lennie and Ginger decided they would enjoy shopping at the Prada outlet rather than paint this morning, so off they went on their own. They returned with such fashion bounty and everyone was excited to see the bargains they found. Shoes, a coat, little gifts.

Angelika decided to stay home alone at Ebbio to paint some more in the rainy silent day ( I was secretly jealous as I imagined a stroll to the vinyard in soft rain), but all the rest of us piled into three cars and enjoyed a morning of duomos, piazzas, art studios, and of course gelatarias.

We came home to find another abundant vegetarian lunch prepared by our beautiful hostess, NirDosh.

A lesson in abstract art followed with Rebecca in the main room which we turned into a huge art studio as Madam Butterfly played on the CD player.

I retreated myself to the brick vaulted yoga studio (800 years ago it was the barn where the cows stayed)and self practiced yoga and dance. Then all arrived for afternoon yoga with me, then dinner outside again as the rain ceased and the stars appeared. Ahhhhh life is soooo goood! Even now, at midnight many are in the big room with great windows overlooking the tuscan hills, painting with intensity!
Tomorow we spend the day in Florence.
